Original cloth, spine gilt; edges a little foxed, and with a couple of tiny spots internally; an excellent copy with the price-clipped dustwrapper a little sunned and marked on the spine, and with a couple of tiny chips. Number 24 in the Faber Library series. This is a later issue of the first printing, with the misprint on the half-title corrected.
'Only the last essay, "John Marston", is printed here for the first time in book form; the others are reprinted from "Selected Essays" (1932)' (Gallup A27a, noting an edition of 4000 copies and a publication date of 4 October 1934).
