Very good A very good copy of a gorgeous edition of STW's short story, whose writing, in late summer 1929, left its author "rather breathless" when she "put on a spurt and murdered my husband" (in Harman, 1995) A special edition of 30 copies on hand-made paper was issued simultaneously. 'Elinor Barley' was later collected in The Salutation (1932). Russell & Lawrence Mitchell 9a; Claire Harman (ed.) (1995) The Diaries of Sylvia Townsend Warner. London: Virago Press.
