CE3 - A tight, clean, sound copy in textured green paper covered boards with gold lettering on the spine with minor overall shelf wear with the dust jacket endflaps glued to the front and back fixed endpapers plus there is a piece (about 1.25"x2.5") torn from the bottom right corner of the front free endpaper plus there are the usual library stamps and pocket on the top outside paper edges, the front free endpaper, and the title page. The dust jacket shows minor overall shelf wear with a 4.5" cut across the back through both the mylar and the dust jacket plus the front and back endflaps are glued to the fixed endpapers plus there are the usual library labels on the spine and front plus it is sitll inm the original library mylar sleeve. Heavily illustrated throughout with black and white photographs. A book about the friendships between Ivor Atkins, organixt of Wrocester Cathedral from 1897 to 1950, and Edward Elgar, the noted British composer. This book is by Atkins's son, and Elgar's godson, and is based on previously unpublished letters, diaries, notes, and the author's own memories of conversations with his father and with Elgar. Bibliographical notes, indexed, 510p. . First American Edition. Hard Cover. Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Ex-Library.
