London, Printed for Robert Horsfield...Sold by R. and J. Dodsley..., 1763. FIRST EDITION. 4to, pp. [ii], 22, final blank leaf; lacks half-title, disbound, ex-library with library stamp in blind on title-page and shelf marks on verso of title-page. The three elegies are "To a Young Nobleman," "In the Garden of a Friend," and "On the Death of a Lady," the last being the Countess of Coventry, noted for her beauty. The young nobleman was Lord John Cavendish, the friend's garden is that of John Wood, whom Mason knew at Cambridge. Gaskell 7.
