Circular library blind-stamp to corner of each plate. Volume One has 1/4" deep chips to cloth at head and tail of spine, and 3" split to cloth in rear joint. Gutter split at the half-title leaf. Volume Two with fraying and tear to cloth across head of spine. [NB: no additional postage other than our usual book rate required on this heavy (3.75kg) set.] ; Two volumes (complete). Volume One: [2 (blank)], xxviii, [2 (blank)], 652 pages + 27 plates (including 5 folding). Volume Two: [2 (blank)], x, 618, [2 (blank)] pages + 39 plates (including 1 double-page, 6 folding). Both volumes with many other illustrations within the pagination, including both in-text and full page illustrations. Maroon cloth boards with gilt lettering on spines and front boards, gilt illustration on front boards. Top page edges gilt. Page dimensions: 247 x 171mm. .
