Demy 8vo; original green cloth, lettered in gilt on spine and upper cover; pp. xxi + (iii) + 443, incl. index; large, folding chart, and large, folding map; folding facscimile. Extremities of cloth a bit rubbed; earlier owner's name signed on front pastedown, and his ink stamp to half-title; numerous informed marginal annotations in a neat hand, and some underlining; scattered, light foxing. Good to very good condition. Dutch text. (Mendelssohn I, p. 896 [Unwin English edition]) "De Eerste Annexatie van de Transvaal, which was also published in English and German, appeared in 1906. ... His De eerste annexatie van de Transvaal and Het insluiten van de Boeren-republieken are brilliant works which, although they present matters from one side only, cannot easily be refuted." - DSAB III, p. 519 .
