About This Item

MP3 Audio CD. The Poem Edwy is an entertaining work of art referred to as a poetic moonshine, where a nominative hero asks help from the faerie world so as to seek for his girlfriend named Aura, and to assure himself that she honestly loves him back. He goes into the Windsor Forest during night time to seek help from the love-fay, Eda, who was enchanted in the past, he asks her to show and let him view what Aura does through the use of a magic mirror from a a broken crystal.

While Edwy spies into the forest, he gets to see the royal procession of the Faerie Queen, and the midnight merriments of elves and souls. This poem is similar to the Midsummer Night?s Dream of William Shakespeare but with a twist as Edwy loses all his memory, makes a bad start, and accidentally loses a sly forest pixie in the midst of his search for love. The literary poem is described to be wickedly whimsical with a comical sense and making one journey to the surreal and magical world of fantasy guided by the glittery moon light.

Anne Ward Radcliffe was an English writer and one of the first Gothic novelists. Her genre is mostly romantic because of her vibrant illustrations of scenic views and distant travel sceneries, and having Gothic features as she uses details of the supernatural. Her Gothic novel gained success at the onset of her career.

Ann Ward Radcliffe was born in Holborn, London to her parents William Ward, a haberdasher and Ann Oates Ward. Radcliffe casually resided with Thomas Bentley, her uncle in Chelsea. Thomas Bentley is well known for his alliance with Josiah Wedgewood, his Unitarian comrade, the creator of the popular Wedgewood china. Wedgewood?s daughter, Sukey, also lived in Chelsea and she was the only childhood friend of Radcliffe. The author made a small impact in the community and was even described by Wedgewood as the shy niece of Bentley.
