Boston: Houghton Mifflin Company / The Riverside Press, 1926. First edition. Hardcover. 356pp. Octavo [21.5 cm] Brown cloth covered boards with a gilt stamped title on the spine, and a small embossed design on the front board. Very good. The extremities are mildly bumped and rubbed. There are several contemporary notations on the front free endsheet. The pages are slightly browned. In a good only dust jacket, with numerous thin deep tears in the edges. The deepest tear is at the head of the jacket's spine, and measures 1 and 1/4 inches deep. The edges are also heavily chipped and creased. The jacket is soiled and darkened, and the spine is faded and rubbed. Includes essays on Hot Baths in the Middle Ages, Prevention of Cruelty to Women, Romanticism in Music, Rainbow Birds, and more.
