About This Item
New York: The Macmillan Company, 1961. Hardcover. 4to. Brown glazed pictorial paper over boards, pictorial price-clipped dust jacket. 60pp. Extensive color illustrations. Good/very good. Mild jacket edgewear, with edge chips at head and tail of spine and 1" chip at tail of spine binding. A tight, decent later printing of this first title in the incredibly popular and collected "This Is...." travelogue series. Uncommon in the nifty jacket and in such nice condition. Miroslav Sasek (1916-80) was a Czech illustrator and author whose fame rests largely on this celebrated series.
