Gahan Wilson, best known for his New Yorker and Playboy cartoons, satirizes the hardboiled private detective fiction of the 1930s and '40s in this humorous parody that is at the same time a real mystery illustrated with dozens of Wilson's cartoons. You'll recognize Hammett and Chandler and Spillane, just to start and find clues to the mystery in the cartoons as well as the text. Issued without a dustjacket, pictorial covers show minor surface wear, spine ends lightly bumped; text edges slightly soiled, o/w a fun book in collectable condition.
