Size is octavo (8vo), 9.25"/24cm h. Handsomely bound in publisher's green cloth, gilt lettering imprinted to spine. Top edge stained light red. Semi glossy color dj features photomicrographs taken from the film A River Must Live. Plain white endpapers. Xxiv pp prelim material, 555 numbered pp plus one w/o numbering; plus three glossy sheets w/b&w photos to recto inserted, no pagination. Preface, list of figures, list of tables, 23 chapters of content, bibliography/index of citations, index of organisms, subject index. Condition notes: quite a nice, tight, square, unmarked copy, with the following flaws: DJ shows moderate wear with rubbing and a few small chips and tears primarily to top edge; spine ends rolled (otherwise boards smart and very light sunning to top edge; former owner's name written and stamped to front free endpaper (similar stamps to each textblock edge). Heavily illustrated, all b&w. We personally inspect every book we offer.

Furrowed Brow Books was established in 2020. The bookstore's owner, Paul Purman, grew up in an old farmhouse full of books. Paul had been providing online booksales since 2008 through several popular online sales venues. In 2021 Paul was accepted as a member of the Independent Online Booksellers' Association (IOBA), and graduated from the annual Colorado Antiquarian Book Seminar (CABS-Minnesota).
Furrowed Brow Books' goal is to offer an eclectic selection, while providing specialty offerings in Eastern Orthodoxy and Byzantine civilization, theology, Christian mysticism, science fiction/fantasy (Inklings emphasis), and military history.
