NY: Porcupine Press by Pasquin Petronius, 1807. First edn. 8vo, Pp. xv, 331 (5). Bound in contemporary calf (somewhat worn, dried, upper joint broken, some foxed) A good copy. Illustrated with 8 engraved plates, including title. Sabin 21778, Harris Pp. 84-85; Wegelin 1266; Imprints 11971; BAL 1315. A scarce anti-Jacobean magazine/anthology by the "Hartford Wits." Includes work by Richard Alsop, Theodore Dwight, Cogswell, Hopkins and John Trumbull. One of the plates shows a group of Afro-Americans dancing to fiddle music; another shows a Mother Mob nursing Infant Liberty. One is engraved by Maverick.
