Bookplate of Allan Octavian Hume (1829-1912; A member of the Indian Civil Service known as the "father of Indian ornithology.) is seen on the front paste downs of each volume. Complete in two volumes with all plates and maps except for plate VIII in Volume II. Plate VIII (Lepus Craspedotis) adjacent to page 134 is MISSING. Original cloth covers are rubbed and scuffed, and there are some tears along the joints of Vol. II. Hinges (internal are fairly strong, though contents of Vol. II are a little shaken and slightly loose. Scattered, mostly light, foxing affecting some of the plates.
