Mackenzie was commissioned by the Indian Army to write this history of the Indian Army in World War II because of his reputation as a novelist and writer of popular history. He was given access to army records and taken to various battlefields when preparing the work. The history was intended to extend to two volumes, but this one covering the period from 1940 to March 1943 was the only volume that was ever published. 623 pages with a bbliography and an index. Weight: 1.1 kg. Post free within Malaysia, but, due to its weight, this book is likely to incur additional postal charges when posted outside Malaysia The dust jacket has darkened slightly with age. and has made an imprints on the end papers which have medium tanning. Otherwise he binding is tight and the text clear with mild tanning throughout.
