East Coker [6] pp 7-15 A first edition, second impression from October 1940 of Eliot's wartime masterpiece, subsequently published together with the other three titles as the Four Quartets. In fair condition, the mustard coloured card wrappers are browned, chipped and split along the spine, the binding is secure, foxing throughout the text and occasional pencil marks in the margins but no ownership inscription. The first published of the four poems in this Faber edition, East Coker has become an increasingly hard title to locate in recent years: 'In my beginning is my end...'
