Chatto & Windus, London., 1928. First edition. Small octavo. 64 pages. Twenty-two poems. The title poem provides a vision of overpopulation and ecological disaster.Presentation copy from the author, inscribed by him on the front free endpaper to a fellow poet: ''Henry Newbolt. A slight token of appreciation from Harold Monro - June '28''. Newbolt was one of the poets included in Monro's 1933 anthology Twentieth Century Poetry. In 1913 he had officially opened the Poetry Bookshop in Bloomsbury.Free endpapers faintly tanned. Head and tail of spine faded. Very good in good, heavily chipped dustwrapper faded at the spine and edges and torn the length of the rear joint.
