About This Item

New York: Equinox, 1932. First edition of this short poem by William Faulkner. Octavo, original paper wrappers. Illustrated with drawings by Albert Heckman. In fine condition. An exceptional example. Faulkner began writing poetry almost exclusively in adolescence, it was not until 1925 that he wrote his first novel, Soldiers' Pay. He published two volumes of poetry throughout his career which were published in small printings, The Marble Faun (1924), and A Green Bough (1933) which This Earth preceded by one year.
