About This Item
Farnham, Surrey: Ashgate Publishing Ltd, 2010. A fascsimile library of the works of English writer Susanna Hopton (1627-1709). Susanna was born into a wealthy mercantile family, the daughter of Sir Simon Harvey, Clerk of Greencloth in the Royal Household. During the Civil War she collaborated with her husband Richard Hopton, of Canon Frome in Herefordshire, in his activities as a royalist agent. Much of her writing consists of the adaptation of Roman Catholic devotional sources for Anglican use. Two volumes in black cloth with gilt titles, fine, the books appear to be in unread condition. Extra shipping charges may apply to these substantial volumes. Please contact Christian White at Modernfirsteditions if you would like more information about this item. Fine 2010
