Original calf-covered boards rebacked with tan buckram, with stamped black lettering. Hinges reinforced with old library tape, corners worn through. Text block is generally quite sound, but for soiling to edges and an old repair to leaf of pp. 499-500. Withal, a presentable copy. Per Tweney, Victor was "one of the best Northwest historical writers." Covers the Cayuse, Rogue River, and Yakima wars. HOWES, V-88; SMITH, 10548; SOLIDAY, IV-950; TWENEY, 79.
