Although not inscribed as such, from the lib. of Sylvia Landsberg, the highly esteemed designer and rejuvenator of gardens including the Tudor Garden in Southampton, with her handwritten notes to rfep and elsewhere in the text. Fine hardback in thor. vg. dw. With 4-page typed list correcting some of the identifications of plants John Harvey made and also identifying close matching varieties available in 1982. A unique copy. After analysing the plant-lists of the Middle Ages, this book tells the story of English gardening over the last three hundred years through the trade catalogues produced over this period.
