About This Item
New York:: Tudor Publishing Company, 1936.. New Edition, 2nd Printing.. Hardbound . BINDING/CONDITION: green cloth with gilt text; lightly rubbed at the spine ends, otherwise a Very Good+ book, with a Good+ dust jacket.. 8vo (9.25 inches tall) . Index. Description: Includes a frontis and seven additional black and white plates (four are maps), plus one additional map within the text. Originally published in 1931 by Longman's Green and Co; this is billed by the publisher as being the ''New Edition July, 1936''; this copy is a second printing of the new edition. To the best of my knowledge, there are no changes from the Longman's Green edition, this might more accurately be termed a reprint edition, rather than ''New'' edition. ''Using much new source material, often modifying the hitherto accepted accounts, the author has produced a volume rich in bibliography, that is still a very readable narrative.''
