Munich / New York: Opbacher Brothers, 1890. First Edition. Sewn binding. Fine/near fine. Oblong octavo, unpaginated [16]pp., illustrated. A fine, fresh copy in the publisher's illustrated thin cardstock covers and sewn binding, with all edges gilt. In what must be an exceedingly rare dust jacket, printed in the same type as is used on the title page. Jacket near fine, with only very small chips at the extremities, and a tiny stain on the rear panel. A scarce little book, with wonderful illustrations, which presents views of the Statue of Liberty and other New York Harbor sites (The Brooklyn Bridge, the Battery, views of boats on the river, etc.) alongside notable poems by Robert Sonthey, Thomas G. Appleton, and Richard H. Stoddard, as well as the arranger, Mathews. OCLC records fewer than a half dozen holdings, and none of these mentions a dust jacket. A great piece of New York ephemera.
