s.l.: Privately printed for the author, 1949. Good. Second impression, SIGNED AND DATED BY AUTHOR. 8vo. B/w frontis and plates. Red cloth, purple(?) lettering. Spine sunned and creased, light wear to ends. Tanned and spotted edges. Two POI to ffep, including the author's in black pen � "C. A. Alington/ July 24 49" � dated the same year he was granted freedom of the City of Durham. Endpapers toned and lightly spotted, some marginal spotting, mull showing at pp. 32-3, else, binding firm. A good copy. Cyril Argentine Alington (1872�1955) was a teacher, Anglican priest and prolific author, including of detective fiction. He served as the Dean of Durham and was headmaster of Eton (1917-1933).
