About This Item

Placitas, NM: Duende, 1964. First edition. 4to, mimeographed, side-stapled in covers.

The first issue of the important western little mag, this issue entirely devoted to the Oregon-born poet Ronald Bayes and his "History of the Turtle Book One" dedicated to Robert Creeley and Gena Ford. The final leaf, printed on a sheet of red construction paper, excerpts Lorca from one of the Duende lectures, here translated by Kathleen Kulp.

Rear cover detached, but present. Some toning and light wear to extremities, with a touch of rusting the staples.
