About This Item

1810. Disbound. Good binding. 12mo. 24 pp. Removed from binding; side-stapled with outer conjugate leaves mended with Japanese tissue. Six-digit number stamped on title-page. An interesting speech at a time when the United States is navigating the unrest in Europe during the Napoleonic Wars and finding its relationships to France and Britain increasingly strained. Quincy feels the House has gone overboard in the language used in the censure of the British ambassador in his discussions with the President Madison. Very uncommon Quincy item.
