Description:
Charles Scribner's Sons, 1958. Hard. Fine. Second Printing ~ Signed by author on title page. Decorated gold colored cloth. Former owner's name stamped on end papers, else a Fine copy. Crisp, clean, unclipped ($2.50) jacket has three small tears and very light edge wear. Kahl's gay 3-color illustrations and bright text shows her gifted touch in this whimsical variation of the Meistersinger theme about Droopsi, a boy from the Bavarian village of Pfeffernussenhofen who (badly) plays the concertina in a contest between his village and its neighbors.
