About This Item

London: Bodley Head, 1961. First Edition. Hardcover with Dust Jacket. Near fine/Very good+. 8vo. Pp. 127. Foreword by the editor. Black and white illustrations throughout. Bound in brown paper-wrapped boards with gilt lettering on the spine. Dust jacket price clipped and a very short closed tear on the front top edge, else fine. An especially crisp example. Usherwood was Radio Times Art Editor 1950-1960. Here he describes the context and merits of more than 30 illustrators' work shown, originally commissioned for the weekly magazine. Dust jacket is now preserved in a clear, removable archival sleeve.
