A rare presentation copy of this volume, inscribed by the author to 'Uma' and signed on the front free endpaper, dated 1952. The first edition of 1951. Richly illustrated with two hundred and sixteen plates. Collated, complete. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally lovely with minor shelf wear only. Inscribed by the author to 'Uma' and signed on the front free endpaper, dated 1952. The dust wrapper is unclipped and smart with some shelf wear and edge wear, a minor closed tear to the front wrap, and some minor chipping to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound.
