London: Constable & Co. Ltd., 1922. Book. Fair. Hardcover. 1st Edition. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Dark blue hardcover with title in gilt on front cover and spine. Top edge gilt. Front cover also bears the logo of Reading University in gilt. Condition: Fair to good, covers have slight mottling and shelfwear to the outer edges. General light foxing and browning to first and last few pages, with more browning to rear endpaper. Occasional light foxing within book. University of Reading Prize label (Session 1926-1927) for the Leonard Sutton prize for Agriculture, awarded to Elspeth J Grant (later Elspeth Huxley) is fixed to the front pastedown. 193pp. 3 coloured plates (inc.frontispiece) and many other b/w illustrations, all by Dorothy P Lathrop..
