London: Methuen. 1962. 96pp, pictorial endpapers. Cloth-textured papered boards with dustwrapper (spine sunned and a trifle chipped at the head). A very good clean copy. Two of Sansom's poems (unpublished?) written onto the verso of the front free endpaper and the half-title, by the book's owner. The first of these is also in manuscript on a sheet of paper loosely inserted. There are two newspaper clippings concerning Sansom; one tipped-in with tape, the other loosely inserted. Owner's name on title-page. ***The poems are 'Saved (a bride and groom to the rescue)' - written for Dianna Large's daughter's wedding at which, according to the poem, the Bishop forgets the names of the couple during the ceremony - and 'At Miss Austen's Grave' written as a commission for the 1000th anniversary of St Swinthun at Winchester Cathedral. .
