Nonesuch Press, 1928. Hardcover. NEAR FINE. Folio, 9 x 12.5.' [8], 325 pp. Copy number 965 of an edition limited to 1475 copies printed on Van Gelder paper. Sandro Boticelli Sepia illustrations printed by Daniel Jacomet, 34 of which are centerfold double-page and 8 full-page. Orange vellum with gilt stamped spine lettering, ruled borders, and floral devices. Top edge gilt, deckled fore and tail. Diglot text in Italian and English in Poliphilus capitals and Blado Italic smalls. Some patina to vellum edges, 4cm scuff to tail of front hinge, typical foxing to endpapers, otherwise clean and fresh throughout with crisp pages and tight, square binding. Without the fading and bowing typically seen. An attractive copy of a spectacular book.
