This is one of twelve signed and lettered copies of The Distant Echo by Scottish novelist Val McDermid. The first first edition was rebound in grey leather with five raised bands, the scorpion logo on the spine and green top edge with patterned marbled sides. It carries an introduction describing Val's long career as a writer, approved and signed by her.
