Page edges and internals very clean, no markings, no creasing. Frontis: Portrait of Andre Maurois. Andre Maurois, b. 1885, d. 1967 (pen name of Emil Herzog), French biographer, novelist and essayist wrote this biography of Benjamin Disraeli, b.1804, d.1881, English statesman and novelist, twice Prime Minister of Great Britain, The First Earl of Beaconsfield. He was a staunch advocate of "Tory democracy", and the power and glory of the British Empire, such as it was. . xii + 369 pages with Notes, Bibliography and Index. 5.5 x 6.25 inches. 1980, Time-Life Books, Alexandria, Virginia, USA.
