Lime green wraps with green and black titles is clean and unmarked, slight wear to extremities; solid and tight binding. Pages toned. clean, no markings of any kind. 48 battles are described with an account of the action related to the ground and a guide to the site as it was in 1974 when this book was published.The battles range from the defeat of the Danes at Ashdown in 871, through the Norman Conquest , various baronial and border wars, the War of the Roses and the Civil War, to Clifton Moor in 1745 when retreating Highlanders got rather the better of a scrap with Cumberland's dragoons. 135 pages pages, indexed. 4.5 x 7 inches. 1974, Shire Publications Ltd, Aylesbury, Bucks, UK
