Handwritten note on The Royal Aero Club stationary presenting this copy "with the author's compliments"partially attached to front free endpaper.
Gann was an amateur archaeologist best known for exploring the ruins of the Maya civilization, discovering a number of sites (including Lubaantun, Ichpaatun, and Tzibanche) and publishing the first detailed descriptions of such ruins as Xunantunich and Lamanai.
Blue cloth with bright gilt titles, some mottling to boards, spine with some areas of slight discoloration. Still, an attractive copy.
