About This Item
London: Oxford University Press, 1927. First Edition. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. (London; Oxford University Press 1927). Publisher's light brown cloth with black portrait and gilt titles to front and spine. Mary Strange Reeve illustrator. Colour frontispiece with 4 other full page black and white plates. A tiny bump to the top right- hand corner of the front board otherwise a near fine copy which is solidly bound with no inscriptions and no foxing. The scarce original first issue dustwrapper has minor fraying/rubbing at the spine ends (un-necessarily reinforced with scotch tape on the verso by a former owner) and is faded to the spine but is unclipped (no price shown). In exceptionally good condition for its 90+ years! The last school story in the Dimsie series. Very uncommon in dustwrapper (indeed the first we have handled). At the time of listing we can find no Dimsie first editions in dustwrappers available for sale on the web. Photographs/scans available upon request
