The Second Book Issued By The Press, A Reworking Of The 9Th Chapter Of Werfel's "Cella Oder Die Uberwinder", Later Published By Simon And Schuster In 1943 In The Anthology The Ten Commandments. One Of An Undetermined Number Of Un-Numbered Copies, Signed By Werfel Below The Colophon. [There Were 150 Copies Numbered, Mostly Signed, In The Subscriber's Edition, Half Leather, An Undetermined Number Of Lettered Copies, And 100 Copies Of The Trade Edition In Cloth, Some Of Which Were Also Signed.] Werfel Died In Los Angeles In 1945 While Reviewing The Advance Proofs Of The Pazifische Press Edition Of His Collected Poetry. Contents Fine, Boards Near Fine; The Leather Spine Is Near Fine But Had Become Partly Detached And Has Been Professionally Re-Attached At Heritage Bindery.
