HATFIELD BOOKS AND MEMORABILIA, a FIVE STAR SELLER presents DIE FRAU ALS HAUSARZTIN (THE WOMAN AS FAMILY PHYSICIAN). This monumental tome, written in German, fearlessly and expertly covers EVERY aspect of human health and disease at the time, using over 150 illustrations, 42 full-page color plates, and Dr. Fischer-Duckelmann's prose in 1039 pages. The author (1856-1917) was herself a pioneering Austrian doctor, author and reformer. 6 3/4" x 9 5/8" and 2 3/8" deep (oversized, may require additional postage) hardcover with no dust jacket (most likely as designed). Overall condition is VERY GOOD. Pages (beautifully decorative endpapers, all edges colored blue) = Near Fine: mild tanning from age, foxing on Forward and Table of Contents, else very tight, sharp, clear, colorful, with NO MARKS! Cover (Blue cloth boards with gilt lettering and designs and paste-on color plate of a woman taking care of her family) = GOOD PLUS: 1/3 of cloth worn off back, particulars worn down on spine, some scratches to front, yet entire, clear and colorful, holding to binding.
