Breslau and Bonn, Kaiserliche Leopoldinisch-Carolinische Akademie der Naturforscher, 1854. 4to (29.7 x 22.4 cm). Two titles (German and Latin). 91 pp.; 22 lithographed plates (some partly hand-coloured). Near contemporary dark blue pebbled half cloth over marbled boards. Spine with gilt title. Marbled endpapers. Speckled edges. = A major contribution to the knowledge of intestinal worms, written, in German, by the German helminthologist Guido Richard Wagener (1822-1896), and well-illustrated. Includes the descriptions of new species. Published as supplement to the academy's Verhandlungen, or Novorum Actorum. Provenance: the Société géologique de France with their oval stamp on the Latin title. Foxing to the plates, as usual; small chip in the lower outer margin of the last plate, otherwise very good.
