Uncommon. Samuel Pauw (1909-1974) was an Afrikaner academic who contributed to the work of the Carnegie Commission, whose report on the so-called 'Poor White Problem' was released in 1932. His continuing interest in the economic development of the Afrikaner is reflected in 'Die beroepsarbeid van die Afrikaner in die stad'. "His thesis, published in revised form as 'Die beroepsarbeid van die Afrikaner in die stad' (1946), was a notable contribution in the field of the social sciences." - DSAB V, p. 569 .
