London: A.Zwemmer Ltd., 1964. Book. Good. Cloth. 4to - over 9¾ - 12" tall. Terracotta colour cloth with titles in gilt on spine. Condition: Good, covers have light sunning around very edges. Binding sound, text clean, no inscriptions. Dustjacket condition: Poor to fair, sunning to spine with small chips and tears around edges. Now protected by clear removable cellophane. 240pp. 132 illustrations, including 100 in colour and many in gold and silver. As well as being an account of Italian textiles spanning seven centuries, the author relates the fabrics to the purpose for which they were undertaken, and their design to the social, religious and political forces that moulded the artists and their patrons. Inspirational designs. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
