The paste on title and author label on the spine strip is faded and the pages rough cut. The main the damage is the front end paper. To hide the fact that the book once belonged to the Harlem Consolidated School, it was glued to the front paste down and it was done badly. there is a heavy, vertical crease along the hinge, a short, c;osed tear on the outside and another larger tear, with no loss, towards the head. The glue has partially lifted revealing ugly glue stains on the pastedown, an accesiion number and the school stamp. The body of the book is in excllent condition. As the title implies, Ellery Queen's bibliography of detective short stories arranged in alphabetical order of author identifying first editions. Red boards, 146 pages.

A detailed bibliography of detective short stories including Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Charles Dickens and Mark Twain. Ellery Queen is the collective pseudonym for crime writers, Frederic Dannay and Manfred Bennington Lee. Their books were some of the most popular American mysteries published during the 20th century. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, excellent with only minor shelf wear. The original unclipped dust wrapper is in a very smart condition with minor sunning to the spine and some shelf wear to the extremities. Some light chipping to the top of the first panel and a small closed tear to the rear. Internally, firmly bound. Pages very bright and clean. Fine
