ALS. 1pg. 8” x 10”. December 19, 1852. Rowley [Massachusetts]. An autograph letter signed “Thomas H. Adams” discussing the moderate earthquake that struck eastern Massachusetts on November 27, 1854: “I have not much news to write…that night at about half past seven I was up & walking acrost the room, when the house, store, tea kettle & almost everything in the house was shaken by an Earth quake, which took the folks out of bed like going to a…it lasted about a minute & a half & past off with out doing damage…”. The letter is in fine condition overall and written on blue paper.
