Sartorious, T. Rowlandson, W. P. Frith, Sir Alfred Munnings, Thomas Allom, Henry Aiken,and J. Pollard.Plus [unpaginated] title page.
Author's representation of Derby Day at its best and its worst on the basis of a whole lot of accounts, looking backwards and forwards.Most of the material drawn on was written in the 1850s and 1860s,since this was the heyday of Derby Day as an institution and it is this he's trying to celebrate.
