About This Item

New York: McClure, Phillips & Company Publishers, 1901. First Edition. Hardcover. Fair/No Jacket. W. W. Denslow. Hardback. First edition, *rare book*. This book is the second state with four pages of illustrations following the dedication page before the Humpy Dumpty rhymed poem and drawings. Hand-lettered verses by Fred W. Goudy. Bright and colorful illustrations on each page. The pages are somewhat dirty and have smudges. The front end-page is unattached from the rest of the book. The front fly page has marginalia. Page 12 has visible graphite markings on top of an illustration and page 34 has a larger horizontal tear halfway through the page (starting at the marginal edge). There are about 90 pages of content. The leaves have mostly broken away from the binding, but are connected by two threads still. Sage green cover boards and spine with black lettering and illustration. There is an owner's signature on the front cover board along with other markings. The cover shows indents and heavy rubbing along the corners, edges, and spine. Overall fair condition. Full refund if not satified.
