About This Item
Burlington, CO: Record, 1916. Pamphlet. Four panel brochure, 4.75x6.25 inches. Phelps was based in Red Cloud, Nebraska. A pro - Socialist Party fantasy, featuring Satan stewing in anger over the increasing proportion of socialists in the United States. "If the socialists get control of the government they will remove the conditions which cause people to commit the deeds which finally bring them down here to hell." At a congress of demons, it is agreed that they should work to convince humans that votes for the Socialist Party are throwing their votes away. Concludes with a call to refute the demonic scheme, and vote Socialist.
