Outer Prize in Ecumenical Church HIstory from the American Society of Church History. As wee, it was awarded the book prize for the Society of HIstorians of the Early American Republic, and it was a co-winner of the John Hope Franklin Publication Prize given by the American Studies Association for the best book in American Studies.
