About This Item
New York, NY Washington Square Paperback, 1964. Paperback First Edition Thus [1964], Third Printing (1968). First published in French in 1835-1840. The Reeve translation was first published in 1863. Very Good+ in Wraps: shows only the most minute indications of use: shows mild rubbing; the pages have tanned just a bit, due to aging; the white background field shows faint, but pervasive soiling, due rubbing. The binding remains square and secure; the text is clean. Free of any creases to the covers. Free of creases to the backstrip. Free of creased or dog-eared pages in the text. Free of any underlining, hi-lighting or marginalia or marks in the text. Free of ownership names, dates, addresses, notations, inscriptions, stamps, or labels. A handsome copy, structurally sound and tightly bound, showing mild wear and minor, unobtrusive flaws. No longer 'As New', but remains clean, sturdy, and quite presentable. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. 12mo. (7 x 4.2 x 0.65 inches). xvi, 331 pages. Abridged, Edited and with an Introduction by Andrew Hacker. Translated by Henry Reeve.
