All edges of the text block are foxed although only the half title and title pages are affected within. The dustwrapper is rubbed, and chipped with numerous short tears, and the rear panel has a small surface stain. This story is complete in itself and needs neither protein nor sequel, but for those readers of Muted Strings and Island Sonata who cared to follow the characters through successive incarnations, there is a list of parallel names appended for reference. Andrew Dakers Limited, 1948. Hardcover. Good. 1948. First Edition. 431 pages. No dust jacket. Blue cloth with gilt lettering. Pages are lightly tanned and thumbed at the edges, with light foxing. Binding has remained firm. Corners are creased in places. Boards are a little rub worn with slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped and spine ends are a mildly crushed. Tanning to spine and edges. Boards are bowed. Book has a forward lean. Water marks to boards and spine.
