Date on title page matches copyright on verso. No additional printings listed. NOT ex-library. Hardcover has grey cloth-covered boards with gold spine and cover lettering and red ruled borders. Deckle fore edges. Black and white plates. 320 pages. Hinges NOT cracked. Binding has a hairline crack at near the middle. Corners and spine ends bumped and rubbed, with minor fraying at tips. Spine slightly darkened. Soft vertical crease on front free endpaper near signature. Covers have moderate edge wear and surface rubbing. One pair of opposing pages has a small brown stain where and old bit of newspaper was used as a bookmark. A few pages have a small smudge or a spot in the margin. Pages lightly and uniformly tanned but still supple. No dust jacket. Carefully packed, shipped in a box.
